It starts in our Memphis, Tennessee test lab, where our engineers and lab technicians subject our products to the highest testing standards. We perform twice as many tests as regulatory agencies require. We even invented some of the tests that are now required for all ceiling fan manufacturers, such as the shake iron test. We use UV lamps and pressurized water hoses to test our outdoor ceiling fans to ensure they maintain their performance and design rain or shine.

We take performance seriously. It's just our way. It's why our fans use direct-drive motors to move more air, and why we use efficient and bright lights. Materials, motor, blade shape and pitch - every element has been carefully engineered and designed to deliver a whisper-quiet, wobble-free fan.

Hunter Fan Company was founded on innovation. John Hunter and his son James used their shotgun manufacturing business to start the very first ceiling fan manufacturer. From there, they developed a belt-driven ceiling fan powered by a water system, followed by one of the first electric ceiling fans.

For 135 years, we haven't stopped innovating. We've developed new designs and breakthrough innovations, from our SureSpeed® high-speed ceiling fans (coming soon to Europe) to our corrosion-resistant WeatherMax® fans. We have worked with aerospace engineers to develop our HVLS industrial fans. We redesigned ceiling fan components that are easy to install, such as our snap-in blades and pre-installed remote control receivers. Although we consist of a team of designers and engineers, we are inventors at heart.
